We are forward-thinking, as we see the future of storytelling across all mediums: physical books, integrated/interactive media, e-books, audio, and film and television.

Sequoia Schmidt

Founder

Sequoia Schmidt is a businesswoman and the founder of Di Angelo Publications, a boutique publishing firm renowned for its elite publishing process and reputation for delivering impactful stories. With a portfolio of over 100 titles, Di Angelo Publications has collaborated with prominent figures across the entertainment, political, sports, and business sectors. Notable releases include R.L. Stine’s debut nonfiction work, There’s Something Strange About My Brain, cementing the company’s standing as a leader in premier publishing services.  

In addition to her achievements in publishing, Sequoia has led multiple entrepreneurial ventures. She founded OTW Adventures, specializing in curated travel experiences to Bhutan and Nepal; McEvoy Industries, a real estate investment firm; Sequoia Children’s Center, an early childhood education initiative; and The Denali Foundation, focused on philanthropic efforts.  

Sequoia’s career has been marked by significant accolades, including two international book awards for her first two literary works. She received the Gutsy Gal Award in 2017, was named in the Houston Chronicle’s 30 Under 30 in 2018, and was honored with the CF Foundation's LA’s Finest Award in 2019. Her selection as the youngest participant in the Yale Global Executive Leadership Program highlights her dedication to excellence in leadership and business innovation.  

An avid adventurer, Sequoia is also a skilled mountain climber and BASE jumper, pursuits that reflect her commitment to pushing boundaries both personally and professionally.
